VitaProva

A calibrated range, not a fake exact number

Photograph your meal and VitaProva gives you a range — about 520–740 kcal — rather than a single confident number it cannot stand behind. The estimate runs on your phone, and no meal photo ever leaves it.

What a range means

Any estimate of a meal's energy from a photograph carries real uncertainty, and a single number hides it. We show the band the true value is most likely to fall in, and we publish how often it actually does: 80% coverage means that for 80 plates in every 100, the true value fell inside the band we showed.

That is what makes the range honest — not that we claim to be better at guessing, but that we measured how often we are right and published the result, on an open dataset and on our own weighed plates. You can read the figures on the benchmark page, including the cases where we do worse.

Not for under-18s or clinical use.

VitaProva is a general-wellness tool for people managing a healthy eating plan. It does not diagnose, treat or manage any disease or condition, and it makes no clinical measurement claims. Our safeguards explain the 18+ policy, the clinician-set limits on daily goals, and where to find support.

Your photos stay on your phone

Recognition, depth, volume and the nutrition look-up all run on the device. There is no upload path for images anywhere in VitaProva — not for improving a model, not for support, not at all. The privacy page lists everything that does leave the device, and nothing else leaves it.
